Will new players mean new results?

With an in-flight re-tool, the Anaheim Ducks have added several new parts and parted with others leading up to tonight’s clash with the Edmonton Oilers at Honda Center.

The Ducks, currently at 24-30-8 and tied for sixth place in the NHL Pacific Division, have shed Nick Ritchie, Devin Stone, Derek Grant and others, then added Danton Heinen, Sonny Milano and Kyle Criscuolo.

Danton Heinen is the standout of the bunch. Coming to Orange County from Boston, he’s a center who’s earned 103 points (34 goals and 29 assists) in 220 games with the Bruins.

Going into tonight’s game with the second place Oilers, the Ducks are hoping to put a rough week behind them. They dropped all four games, falling to Calgary 6-4, Florida 4-1, Colorado 1-0 and then Las Vegas 6-5 in overtime,

After tonight’s game, the Ducks will next host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday and then the New Jersey Devils on Sunday.
