Police are investigating two “suspicious deaths” in Garden Grove that could be a murder or a suicide or both.

According to Sgt. Mario Martinez of the GGPD, a father and his son were found dead in a home in the 11800 block of Stuart Drive at around 4:16 p.m. on Saturday. That’s southwest of Harbor Boulevard and  Garden Grove Boulevard.

Officers responded to that location on a “check the welfare” call. The caller – an older brother – told police he had not heard from his father and brother recently and he was unable to reach his father at his home.

Police forced their way into the house and found the two dead from what appeared to be stab wounds. The victims are identified as Thinh Vu, 77, and Thomas Vu, 29.

“At this point of the investigation, it appears to be a murder/suicide, however the investigation is ongoing,” according to Sgt. Martinez.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the GGPD at (714) 741-5800.
