A 59-year-old woman was killed after her vehicle was struck by another vehicle while hers was stopped at a red light in Garden Grove Wednesday afternoon.

According to Master Officer Paul Ashby of the GGPD, the incident took place at the intersection of Euclid Street and Chapman Avenue at 1:30 p.m.

A white 2017 Honda crashed into the rear end of the woman’s car, causing it to strike a third vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle was found to be unconscious and not breathing. She was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where she was declared dead from her injuries.

Her name was not released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Honda, a 27-year-old man, was also hospitalized. None of the people in the third car required medical attention.

After investigation, Garden Grove police arrested the driver of the first vehicle for driving under the influence and he was released to the care of the hospital pending the filing of criminal charges.

Anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact Master Officer Ashby at (714) 741-5823.

  1. Poor woman. Prayers for her family.

    Drinking and driving.
Why do people not get it? No. Just no. Stop it!

    • Under the influence doesn’t necessarily mean alcohol though, any substance that impaired them

    • It said the first vehicle was impaired… the honda which is the third vehicle killed the lady in the second car. The impaired guy was never at fault he was just stopped lol
