Woman dies after collision with truck

A WOMAN died after she was struck by a pickup truck Wednesday morning in Garden Grove (Shutterstock).

A 64-year-old woman was fatally injured when struck by a pickup truck while walking in Garden Grove Wednesday morning.

According to Master Officer Paul Ashby of the GGPD, the accident occurred around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of Valley View Street and Lampson Avenue. The truck, a black 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, collided with the pedestrian while it was making a right eastbound turn.

The woman, identified as Laura White, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 39-year-old man, remained at the scene until emergency personnel arrived.  He was evaluated and showed no signs of impairment. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision, according to Officer Ashby.
