Confirmed new cases of the coronavirus dropped in Sunday’s report from the Orange County Health Care Agency. However, it was the second consecutive day of 100 or more new COVID-19 infections.
According to the OCHCA, 105 new cases were reported, compared to Saturday’s count of 124. The previous high was 104 on April 1. The cumulative total is now 2,074.
Tests reported on Sunday were 2,267, putting the total at 25,552. One hundred and forty-eight cases were hospitalized, with 55 in intensive care units.
In the city-by-city tallies, Anaheim has 285, followed by Santa Ana (281), Huntington Beach (181), Irvine (127) and Newport Beach (94).
Among the cities in The Tribune’s coverage area, after Huntington Beach there’s Garden Grove (85), Westminster (36) and Stanton (19).
