5 deaths, 153 new corona cases

THE CORONAVIRUS daily count for Friday showed five deaths and 153 new confirmed cases (Shutterstock).

Five deaths and 153 new confirmed coronavirus cases were reported in today’s (Friday) count by the Orange County Health Services Agency.

The total to-date count of fatalities from the COVID-19 pandemic locally is now 71, with 3,240 cases. Of those deaths. 16 have been residents in skilled nursing facilities.

One hundred eighty-eight cases are hospitalized, with 74 in intensive care units.

Eight hundred and 12 tests were reported on Friday, with the total at 46,372.

The city with the most cases in Orange County is Anaheim with 472, followed by Santa Ana (456, including 251 in Orange County Jail in Santa Ana), Huntington Beach  (242), Garden Grove (169) and Irvine (140).
