The Garden Grove City Council is moving back into the Community Meeting Center on Tuesday night, ending a stretch of meetings conducted via Zoom or other electronic means.
It’s likely the meeting will not be held in the council chamber, but in a larger room in the building to allow for social distancing.
- a public safety update for the coming Independence Day holiday from Police Chief Tom DaRe and Orange County Fire Authority Division Chief Ron Roberts.
- a discussion on a proclamation of “Garden Grove Solidarity” with peaceful protesters against “injustice, racism and hate.” It’s requested by councilmembers Kim Nguyen and Phat Bui.
- a discussion on recognizing sworn and civilian essential city employees for COVID-19 service as requested by Councilmember George Brietigam.
- a discussion on naming the pedestrian and bike trail now under construction between Stanford Avenue and Brookhurst Street to be the “Congressional Medal of Honor Bike Trail and Park,” as requested by councilmembers Brietigam and Bui.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. The next scheduled meeting is June 23.
