THE federal money coming to Garden Grove to address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic is on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Garden Grove City Council (Shutterstock).

How Garden Grove will spend its share of the federal aid sent to cities in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic will be on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the City Council.

The total amount of money under the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security) Act coming to the city is over $10.2 million. Programs affected would be as follows, numbers are rounded up:

The city has also applied for grants such as a $6 million request for infrastructure improvements along South Harbor Boulevard and $10,000 for a bike and hike initiative.

Also on the agenda is consideration of an implicit bias awareness training module for the city council, city commissioners and civilian (non-police) city employees. Implicit bias testing is aimed at revealing prejudices based on race, sex, gender, age, etc.

The council will meet in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. in regular session at 6:30 p.m.
