Pedestrian sought in accident

A MAN was killed Sunday morning in Stanton the area of Katella Avenue and Beach Boulevard (Shutterstock).

The public’s help is being sought in identifying a man who was involved in a fatal incident Sunday morning in Stanton.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department – which provides police services to Stanton – the incident took place around 10 a.m. in the area of Beach Boulevard and Katella Avenue. He reportedly stepped into traffic, causing cars to brake suddenly. A motorcyclist struck the rear of one of the stopped cars and was fatally injured.

The man being sought is a 30-year-old man, 6-feet tall, white or Hispanic, with “scruffy” facial hair, a thin build, and wearing a white shirt and black pants.

Fatal shooting on Flower in Santa Ana

Santa Ana police found the body of a man early Monday morning slumped behind the wheel of his automobile.

According to the SAPD, the man was discovered in his car in the middle of the street in the 500 block of South Flower Street at 12:24 a.m. He had suffered gunshot wounds to his upper body. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics declared the man deceased at 12:42 a.m.

The identity of the man is being withheld pending identification by the Orange County Coroner’s division and notification of his next of kin.

GGUSD board to consider political policies

The Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education will consider two policies related to political activities when it meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

A revised policy relates to involvement in political activities and relations between the public and the district. A new policy addresses board elections, candidate qualifications and candidate campaigning.

The meeting will be conducted via telecommunication. GGUSD serves most of Garden Grove as well as portions of Anaheim, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster.

  1. You have this story wrong. The pedestrian did not die, he caused the accident that caused a motorcyclist to die. The pedestrian described is wanted since he walked away before the sheriff’s department arrived. Please check your sources you are way off! It is a shame to the real victim.

  2. Jim, re the GGUSD Trustees meeting. Does this portend the Trustees intend to become politically active in the community?
