IT’S NOT very green now, but there’s an agreement before the Garden Grove City Council Tuesday night to add 363 trees and irrigation (OC Tribune photo).
It’s been a long time since the old Pacific Electric right-of-way’s path has been anything more than a dusty diagonal scar across Garden Grove.
But there’s now a newly-opened bike and pedestrian path named in honor of the three Garden Grove residents awarded the Medal of Honor for military valor.
Under the contract, 363 trees would be planted along its length with work planned to begin on Sept. 8 and completion two months later.
Also on the agenda there is an item on consideration of an implicit bias awareness training module for city council members, along with city commissioners and civilian city employees. Police officers would be exempted because they already have similar training.
The meeting will be held via teleconference, starting at 6:30 p.m.
