Rally in Washington to keep the “dream” alive

AL SHARPTON speaks (NAN).

Thousands of people rallied in Washington D.C. on Friday to call for an end to police violence and for change in the nation’s leadership. Termed “The Commitment March” with the rallying call “Get Your Knee Off Our Neck,” the rally was organized by National Action Network on the anniversary of the original “March on Washington” in August 1963 at which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made his famous “I Have A Dream” speech. Speakers included Rev. Al Sharpton and Martin Luther King III.

“We come today, Black and White, and all races and religions and sexual orientations to say this dream is alive. You may have killed the dreamer, but you can’t kill the dream because truth crushed to earth shall rise again,” said Sharpton. “Get your knee off our neck. Enough is enough.”
