7 Leaves at Harbor/Chapman is OK

A site plan for operation of a new drive-through restaurant – 7 Leaves Café – at the southeast corner of Chapman Avenue and Harbor Boulevard was approved by the Garden Grove Planning Commission at its meeting on Sept. 17.

The planners voted 5-0 to allow for the use in an existing building that was formerly a drive-through pharmacy. It will be in the same commercial block with a Target department store and a Coco’s restaurant. 7 Leaves is a growing chain of establishments that serve a variety of artisan teas, coffees and fruit drinks, as well as macrons, a cookie-like French confection.

Also, then planners:

• issued a letter of denial to applicants asking for a conditional use permit for a new liquor store at 13911 Harbor Blvd. (at Westminster Avenue);
• approved a conditional use permit to allow an existing Holiday Inn Express hotel to operate with a beer and wine liquor sales license for the lobby of a gift shop for the sale of canned and bottled beer, as well as a liquor license for the breakfast/bar area on the ground floor with indoor seating and the service of pre-made snack foods.

Planners were also told the hotel would be re-branded to the Wyndom Hotels chain.
