KIMBERLY HO has raised the most money of all candidates for Westminster City Council (Shutterstock).
The transition from at-large elections to a by-district system has, in some cities, pitted office-holders against each other.
In Westminster, councilmembers Tai Do and Kimberly Ho will be competing against each other for the District 3 position, and have raised the most money among all five candidates for two seats, although most of that comes from loans to themselves.
According to documents filed with the Westminster City Clerk’s office, here are the financial numbers:
- Kimberly Ho has raised $129,721.15, of which $86,635 is a loan to her campaign. She has spent $99,954.85 and has $6,023.23 cash on hand, with debts of $112,821.81.
- Tai Do has raised $49,853.48, of which $25,000 is a loan to his campaign He has spent $39,413.59 and has $12,895 cash on hand, with debts of $25,000.
- Carlos Manzo has raised $14,565, spent $12,081.71 and has a cash balance of $5,950.64 with no debt.
- NamQuan Nguyen has raised $33,557 of which $5,250 is a loan to his campaign. He has spent $14,447.99 and has a cash balance of $19,109.11, along with a debt of $5,250.
- Trung Ta has raised $5,308, of which $2,400 is a loan to his campaign He has spent $983.27 and has cash on hand of $4,824.73. He has a debt of $2,900.
