At a short meeting of the Huntington Beach City Council Monday night, city leaders decided against taking a position on two state propositions on ballot for the Nov. 3 election.
The council voted 5-2 (with Eric Peterson and Barbara Delgleize in the minority) against weighing in on Propositions 15 and 22.
Also on Monday night, a proposal for policies governing conduct and decorum at meetings of the city council and other bodies was withdrawn from consideration.
Additionally, the council voted 6-1 (with Erick Peterson dissenting) in favor of Jill Hardy’s request to be replaced by Kim Carr as mayor pro tem for remainder of the year.
The council also approved on a 7-0 vote a prohibition on the repairs and sales of bicycles and bicycle parts on public property.
The meeting adjourned at 7:19 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 19.
