Overnight firefighting efforts have resulted in some containment of the Silverado and Blue Ridge blazes in north and east Orange County.
According to incident updates released this morning (Wednesday):
- Silverado: The fire has spread to 13,354 acres and is considered 25 percent contained. No structures have been destroyed, but almost 70,000 were threatened. The areas affected are Santiago Canyon, Irvine, Foothill Ranch, Tustin, and Irvine. Resources committed include 148 fire engine companies, 12 water tenders, eight bulldozers and 30 hand crews. Total personnel: 1,211.
- Blue Ridge: The fire has spread to 14,334 acres and is considered 16 percent contained. One structure was destroyed, but almost 21,000 were threatened. The areas affected include Yorba Linda, Chino, Olinda Ranch and Brea Hills. Resources committed include 38 fire engine companies, three water tenders, three helicopters for a total of 186 personnel.
