A busy agenda with items ranging from closings on Main Street to plans for the 2021 Fourth of July Parade and celebration will greet the Huntington Beach City Council when it meets on Monday.
- a status update on the city’s Regional Housing Needs Assessment, a state regulation that calls for Surf City to develop or at least zone areas for 13,337 more housing units, including 3,652 very low-income units. The city has appealed the RHNA.
- consideration of an interim extension of the temporary closure of vehicular traffic of the second and third blocks of Main Street.
- approval of a professional services contract with Southskilz, Inc. for production and management of the annual Independence Day event, and
- approval for introduction of an ordinance regulating the short-term rentals.
Monday’s meeting will be the last full meeting for outgoing council members. New council members will be sworn in and seated at the Dec. 7 meeting and a new mayor selected.
