ORANGE COUNTY coronavirus stats for Tuesday again have good and bad news (Shutterstock).
As has been happening in recent days, Tuesday’s reports on the coronavirus epidemic in Orange County has news that’s both encouraging and depressing.
According to the county health care agency, new cases of COVID-19 infections declined for the second straight day, with today’s total of 1,671, compared to 1,964 on Monday. Deaths were zero again.
According to the California Department of Public Health, the ICU availability for the county is now at 6.7 percent. For the Southern California region, which is now under a stronger “stay at home” order, the ICU availability is at 10.1 percent, down from 10.9 percent Monday. Fifteen percent is the tipping point between the more restrictive “widespread” designation and more relaxed rules on business and other activities.

- Santa Ana: 17,608 (338)
- Anaheim: 15,205 (353)
- Garden Grove: 5,362 (118)
- Fullerton: 4,322 (118)
- Orange: 4,300 (75)
- Huntington Beach: 3,776 (92)
Westminster has 2,101 cases and 34 deaths. Stanton has 1,093 cases and 18 deaths.
