Two people were rescued from a water-choked flood control channel in Santa Ana Monday evening.
They were assessed by OCFA paramedics at the scene. The woman was transported to a local hospital because of leg pain and was listed in stable condition. The man declined treatment.
Man killed in wheelchair vs. car accident
A 75-year-old man suffered fatal injuries when, while in a motorized wheelchair, he was struck by a car while attempting to cross a street Tuesday morning in Santa Ana.
According to the Orange County coroner’s office, the man – who was not identified – was hit while trying to cross Euclid Street near 2nd Street. He was struck by a Toyota Prius around 7:30 a.m. The man was treated by paramedics but was declared dead at 7:44 a.m.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to police.
