New cases resume their decline

NUMBERS IN Friday’s Orange County report showed stats generally trending down (Shutterstock).

After a one-day rise, the number of new confirmed coronavirus cases in Orange County continued its downward slide.

According to the county health care agency, Friday’s tally of new cases is at 324, down from 336 the day before. Deaths were the same at 41, but hospitalizations dropped to 636 from 663 and intensive care units devoted to treating COVID-19 patients declined to 215 from 230.

The cumulative total of coronavirus cases in Orange County is now at 243,989, of whom 222,087 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 3,726.

Here is the list of OC cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

Westminster has had 6,817 cases and 144 deaths. Stanton has had 3,077 cases and 47 deaths.
