The second week of an unprecedented “spring season” for area high school football starts Thursday evening.
Here’s the projected schedule, but all matchups are tentative because of COVID-19 safety protocols. As a general rule, fan attendance is limited, in some cases to members of the players’ immediate family,

Thursday
- Loara vs. Santiago at Monsoor Stadium (Garden Grove High)
- Rancho Alamitos at La Quinta at Bolsa Stadium
- Western vs. Magnolia
- Newport Harbor at Edison at Scheue Field (Huntington Beach High)
- La Mirada at Orange at Kelly Field (El Modena High)
Friday
- Kennedy at Pacifica at Bolsa Stadium
- Bolsa Grande at Los Amigos at Monsoor Stadium
- Fountain Valley at Huntington Beach
- Garden Grove at San Dimas.
Vikings defeat Seahawks
The Marina High School football team squared its record at 1-1 Wednesday night with a 34-0 win over district rival Ocean View.
The Vikings are next in action on March 25 against Laguna Beach. The Seahawks (1-1) will next play Katella on March 26.
