David Fletcher’s two-out single in the top of the 11th inning lifted the Angels to a 7-5 extra-inning victory Thursday night over the Blue Jays in Toronto. Fletcher, who ended up with two hits and three RBIs for the game, stroked a line drive single to center, scoring Justin Upton and Jose Iglesias.
Also starring at the plate for the Orange County team was Mike Trout with three hits, two runs scored and one RBI on a third-inning solo home run. He ended the night with seven total bases.
Raisel Iglesias got his second save of the season by striking out the side in the bottom of the 11th.
The Angels will take on the Blue Jays Friday in the second game of a three-game series.

Also Thursday night, Marina defeated Katella 21-6 in a Big 4 League game. Jack Miller has three TD passes in the win. If Garden Grove defeats Segerstrom Friday night, that will mean the Vikings (4-1, 2-0) have clinched no worse than a tie for the league crown.
On Wednesday, Magnolia edged Century 29-28 to square the Sentinels’ overall record at 2-2. They are also 2-2 in Orange League play. They’ll close out the schedule on April 15 against Savanna High.
