A new policy on who can sit on city commissions and committees and a proposal for a new “parkette” are on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Stanton City Council.
Under the proposed ordinance, any resident of the city, 18 years old or older, can be appointed to and serve on those panels “regardless of citizenship or immigration status.”
At the request of Councilmember Hong Van, city staff will present a report on a proposed “parkette” – or small park – for the intersection of Orangewood Avenue and Santa Rosalia Street, east of Western Avenue.
The report will include a conceptual plan and the estimated cost to construct.
Tuesday’s meeting will again be held virtually, with a closed session set for 6 p.m. and the regular session at 7 p.m.
