Hearing on service station is set

A public hearing at Wednesday’s meeting of the Westminster City Council will consider the appeal of an earlier approval by the city’s planning commission of the development of a new service station and convenience market.

The proposed business would be located at 5992 Westminster Blvd. (west of Springdale Street). Planners approved an amendment to a conditional use permit that includes a reduced rear yard setback.

Also on the agenda for Wednesday is a discussion of regulations pertaining to political signs, including size. Additionally, the council will consider canceling the meetings of Aug. 11, Sept. 8, Nov. 24 and Dec. 22.

The meeting will be in a teleconference format, with a 6 p.m. closed session followed by the open session at 7 p.m.
