“Nomadland” at home at Oscars

FRANCES McDORMAND starred in “Nomadland.” which won four major Oscars Sunday night. She won for best actress, her fourth triumph.

“Nomadland,” the story of a woman, her lonely journey and those like her who drift from temporary job to job, a forgotten but important part of the work force, shone the brightest on Sunday’s 93rd Academy Awards.

The film, starring France McDormand, won four of the eight “major” Oscars. Included in that list was McDormand herself, and awards for best director and best adapted screenplay.

The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony was held in a unique format, combining an intimate event at Union Station in Los Angeles with remote content. But one tradition remains: the focus on the most glamour awards. Here are the ones who will go home with Oscar tonigh.:
