Although Orange County didn’t make it into the less restrictive “yellow” tier on Tuesday, Wednesday’s numbers on the coronavirus showed continued improvement.
Overall, cases to date in Orange County are at 254,165, of which 246,902 have been judged recovered. Deaths are at 4,979.
At the state level, the Los Angeles Times is estimating that – averaged over a 14-day period – new cases have declined 19 percent and deaths by 13 percent. At national level, The New York Times projects that new cases are down 26 percent over two weeks, and deaths by 2 percent.
An estimated 77 percent of American adults have been either fully vaccinated or have received one dose, claims the NYT. For California, the total is thought to be 81.3 percent, reports the LAT.
