New car wash before planners

GARDEN GROVE Planning Commission will meet on July 15 to consider a new car wash (Shutterstock).

A new car wash facility to replace a closed one tops the agenda of the Garden Grove Planning Commission when it meets on Thursday, July 15.

Applicant Don Vogel is seeking approval of a site plan and conditional use permit to demolish an existing building and build a new automatic car wash operation on Chapman Avenue at Harbor Boulevard.

The new building, if approved, would cover 4,018 square feet. The proposed Fast5XPress would be in the Target shopping center at the southeast corner of Chapman and Harbor.

Planners will also receive an update on the city’s urban forest management plan.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
