If you’re a parolee and carrying a gun, it’s probably a good idea to not attract attention to yourself by – for example – speeding along on a motorcycle.
That’s what led members of the Garden Grove Police Department’s Community Impact Unit to make an arrest last Tuesday of what officers call a documented gang member.
Officers were able to stop that, but the man then led them on a short foot pursuit.
Police say that the suspect “became combative” and resisted arrest. During the struggle, the man tried to discard a firearm. He was arrested and taken into custody and booked into Orange County Jail.
The weapon – a loaded Glock 42 semiautomatic pistol – was recovered.
