Liquor and self-storage are on the agendas for planning commissions meeting next week in Westminster and Garden Grove.
The Westminster panel will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 18 via teleconference at 6:30 p.m. Topping the agenda will be request for a conditional use permit to allow the sale of distilled spirits at the Cloud 9 Sports Bar OC, located at 7821-7823 Westminster Blvd.
In Garden Grove, the planners will meet on Thursday, Aug. 19 in person in the council chamber in the Community Meeting Center at 7 p.m.
The sole topic of the meeting is the continuation of a request for a site plan to demolish the existing two-story building at the northwest corner of Chapman and Western avenues – recently occupied by Spectrum cable services – and in its place build a six-story self-storage building.
At the Aug. 5 meeting, the panel voted 4-2 to ask city staff to return at the next meeting with a resolution rejecting the request for the permit.
