A resolution “in support of Afghan refugees and the people of Afghanistan” that was controversial when first introduced last month goes before the Garden Grove City Council meeting on Tuesday.
Some wording to the original resolution was called “divisive” by Councilmember John O’Neill (District 2) and the council asked him and Nguyen to confer on a new resolution.
In other action on Tuesday, the council will consider:
- awarding a contract to R.J. Noble for the Euclid-Westminster intersection “capacity enhancement” at an amount of $1,112,270, adding two right-turn lanes, one eastbound and one southbound;
- authorize issuing a purchase order of $15,370 for buying various street signs;
- a presentation on Civic Center Community Engagement.
The council will meet in person at the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. at 6:30 p.m.
