HUNTINGTON BEACH HIGH is seeded number one in Open Division CIF-SS boys’ water polo playoffs starting next week (Shutterstock).
Boys’ CIF-SS water polo playoffs will start this coming week, with eight locals taking part. All first round games are scheduled for 5 p.m.
- Open Division (starts Thursday): Lutheran/Orange (19-9) at Huntington Beach (16-2).
- Division 2 (starts Wednesday): Edison (15-10) at Costa Mesa (12-11); Santa Ynez (15-14) at Pacifica (16-12), 5 p.m.
- Division 5 (starts Tuesday): Cypress (14-10) at Western (16-8); Torrance/West (12-11) at Los Amigos (12-8).
- Division 6 (starts Tuesday): Bolsa Grande (5-6) at Saddleback (14-9); Perris (7-6) at Westminster (19-9); Alhambra (6-6) at Ocean View (9-14); La Quinta (7-15) has a bye. Will play winner of Paloma Valley vs. San Gorgonio on Thursday.
Three area teams are seeded in divisional top fours: Huntington Beach is first in the Open Division and in Division 6, Ocean View is third and Westminster fourth.
The final 2021 boys’ water polo poll has Huntington Beach atop the Open Division, Edison in eighth in Division 8 and Ocean View and Westminster third and fourth in Division 6
