$1 million drug bust by HBPD

Drugs worth an estimated $1 million were seized and two suspects arrested on Tuesday by Huntington Beach Police Department detectives.

According to Jennifer Carey, public information officer for the HBPD, the investigation into a drug trafficking organization based out of Mexico has been ongoing through October.

Two men, ages 21 and 29, were arrested in the city of Bell. At that time, one of the suspects was allegedly in possession of 20 pounds of what police believe to be methamphetamine. After the arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at his home and recovered additional drugs and weapons.

They seized a total of 317 pounds of suspected “meth,” 17 kilos of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, and two handguns.

Suspect names and additional details are not being released while the investigation continues.
