A new special education information system may soon be implemented by Huntington Beach Union High School District for students with special needs.  The matter will before the HBUHSD Board of Trustees when it meets on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The information system for special education is specifically intended for record and data keeping. It would be an additional service to the current in-use student information system for non-special education students. The board of trustees will vote on whether to enter into the contract with the San Joaquin County Office of Education.

It will cost $5,636 to enter into this contract.

A possible reimbursement will also be voted on for the parents who provided out-of-district transportation for special education students.

The board of trustees will meet on in-person and over live webinar via Huntington Beach Union High School District’s website. The meeting will be open for public comment.

Other items to be considered include:

The HBUHSD serves Huntington Beach and parts of the cities of Fountain Valley, Garden Grove and Westminster.
