AN ESTIMATED FORTY guns were take in a burglary in Garden Grove (Flickr/Don Waddington).

A post-midnight heist on a gun store in Garden Grove netted nearly 40 firearms to the robbers.

According to Sgt. Eric Leyva, officers were sent to the Whitten Sales gun store, located at 12821 Valley View St., at about 12:16 a.m. Thursday in response to a burglary. The owner of the business saw video surveillance of at least one suspect inside the store.

Arriving officers found the front door shattered. The guns had been taken from a safe. The suspects had fled in two vehicles, one a blue BMW and the other a silver BMW.
