Clayton-Tarvin leads OV board

Gina Clayton-Tarvin has been selected to serve as president of the Ocean View School District Board of Trustees.

At its organizational meeting on Tuesday, the OVSD chose her to preside over the board for 2022. It will be her fifth term in that position.

Patricia Singer was chosen as vice president and Jack C. Souders will be clerk.

The OVSD is a K-8 district serving northern Huntington Beach and portions of Fountain Valley, Westminster and Midway City.

“Santa On the Go” in Westminster

The City of Westminster will host a series of  “Santa on the Go” events throughout the community this weekend.

These pop-up events will feature a visit from Santa Claus, craft stations, games, and other holiday activities.

On Friday, Santa will be at Sigler Park (7200 Plaza St.) from 5-7 p.m.

On Saturday, he’ll be at:

  • Bolsa Chica Park (13660 University St.) from 10-11:30 a.m.
  • Westminster Park (14402 Magnolia St.) from 12:30-2 p.m.
  • Gillespie Park (9801 McFadden Ave.) from 3-4:30 p.m.

Main Street flowers get holiday love

Volunteers from Wells Fargo, the City of Garden Grove and the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce will “update” the plants on a block of Main Street on Saturday.

It’s part of Wells Fargo’s “Hope USA” to boost support of small businesses. Following the Main Street re-flowering, a Holiday Hope Bazaar will be held at the SteelCraft urban outdoor eatery located nearby at 12900 Euclid St.

Speakers will include Mayor Steve Jones, Keith Kobata (Orange County Region Bank President, Wells Fargo) and Lisa Kim (community and economic development director as well as assistant city manager for the City of Garden Grove.
