The city councils of Garden Grove, Stanton and Westminster will hold meetings this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. In each case, the meetings will be held by web conference or telephonically because of COVID-19 health protocols.
Garden Grove: Pay raise for city council
Under the proposed ordinances, council members would receive $1,312.34 per month, up from the current pay of $486.05. The mayor would receive an additional $200 per month. The expected effective date is Jan. 1, 2023.
The council will also consider second reading and adoption of an ordinance allowing for lot splits in single-family residential zones in accordance with Senate Bill, 9.
Stanton: Redistricting, new townhomes
Also on the agenda is the second reading and adoption of an ordinance for an agreement between the city and Bonanni Development for the construction of a 79-unit townhome project at 12200 Beach Blvd. (southeast of Chapman Avenue).
The meeting is at 6:30 p.m.
Westminster: Censure resolution, time limits
Also, the council will consider the concept of imposing time limits on councilmember during the discussion of agenda items, and “provide direction” on drafting such a policy. Recent meetings have gone on for as long as seven hours, beginning in the afternoon of Wednesdays and not concluding until well after midnight.
