A Russian missile attack aimed at a base used to train foreign fighters in western Ukraine killed at least 35 people on Sunday, and as many as 100 were injured, reports The New York Times.

- Pope Francis has criticized the Russian invasion of Ukraine as an “unacceptable armed aggression,” according to United Press International.
- Russia is asking for military equipment from China, according to reuters.com. U.S. diplomats will be meeting with Chinese officials to discuss the issue. China has not condemned the invasion, but is calling for a diplomatic solution.
- Russian soldiers firing on a car in Ukraine are being blamed for the death of Brent Renaud, an American photojournalist and filmmaker. His colleague, Juan Arredondo, was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds, according to USA Today.
Obama’s got the corona
FORMER PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA has tested positive for the coronavirus.
COVID-19 is no respecter of persons, and has jumped on Queen Elizabeth II and former president Donald Trump. Now, former president Barack Obama said on Sunday that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.
“I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple of days, but am feeling fine otherwise,” Obama told the Associated Press.
He added that he had been vaccinated and received the booster shot.
Sports: Prelude to March Madness

The lineup of 68 teams to take part in the NCAA Division 1 men’s basketball tournament will be revealed this evening, the process to be broadcast beginning at 3 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on CBS.
Arizona is almost certain to be the top seed in the Western Regional, and teams from UCLA and USC are expected to be included in the field.
The Bruins lost the Pac-12 championship game 84-76 to Arizona on Saturday night.
The women’s NCAA tournament lineup will be revealed in an ESPN broadcast starting at 5 p.m. Pacific time.

The forecast for Monday is for a high of 77 (overnight low of 61) under sunny skies. Tuesday is expected to be 76 (52) with mostly sunny conditions. Wednesday should be similar with a high of 76 (52) and lots of sun. Winds will be in range of nine to 11 miles an hour.
