Ella Magga launched a one-girl assault on the record books Wednesday in La Quinta’s 20-8 non-league win over Portola High in softball.
Magga, a freshman, nearly hit for cycle, collecting a single, a double and a triple. She ended up with three RBIs and scored four runs. So far this season for Jeff Nadeau’s Aztecs, she’s batting .294 with six extra-base hits.
La Quinta is 8-3 overall but 0-2 in Garden Grove League play. League play for the blue-and-gold resumes on Tuesday hosting Bolsa Grande.
