“Alternative” work week studied

Would you rather work five eight-hour days, or four 10-hour days?

When the Garden Grove City Council meets on Tuesday, it will consider a proposal by Councilmember George Brietigam (District 1) to provide incentives to businesses in the city to offer “alternative” work schedules.

As proposed by Brietigam, qualifying businesses would get a five percent rebate from the business license tax for participating. When he introduced the idea at the most recent council meeting, he said it was a “quality of life” issue that could also reduce traffic and air pollution.
