HB Oilers in CIF regional finals

Huntington Beach High’s baseball team has advanced to the final round of the CIF Southern California Division I Regional Playoffs.

The Oilers (24-9) will visit JSerra High (25-10) on Saturday at 11 a.m. The winner of that game will play in the state championship game.

On Thursday the black-and-orange defeated Villa Park 9-2. The Oilers scored six runs in the first inning and pitcher Jack Smith struck out 12 Spartans en route to the semifinal win.
