Are some “day spas” and “beauty care service” businesses just fronts for prostitution?
When the Stanton City Council meets on Tuesday it will be asked to extend an existing moratorium on certain “personal service and medical office businesses” for an additional 10 months and 15 days.
The original 45-day moratorium was approved by the council on June 14, 2022.
The moratorium continues a temporary stop to new medical office or personal service businesses if they include a barber shop, beauty salon, nail salon, tanning salon, non-medical skin or facial skin care, eyelash extensions or eyebrow waxing, threading or tattooing, acupuncture or acupressure.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
