Trustee area maps on agenda

A presentation on the adoption of trustee area maps will be made to the Huntington Beach Union High School District Board of Trustees when it meets on Tuesday night,

The presentation will be followed by a public hearing to get public input on the maps. A second public hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 25.

Along with many other government agencies, the HBUHSD is switching from at-large voting for its governing board to by-district elections to make sure it complies with the California Voting Rights Act.

The district serves Huntington Beach and most of Fountain Valley and Westminster. The board will meet at the district office, Bolsa Ave., Huntington Beach with a closed session at 4:30 p.m. and the regular session at 6 p.m.
