Lakers win, take a 3-1 lead

A torrid fourth quarter – including a heroic effort by Lonnie Walker – lifted the Los Angeles Lakers to a 104-101 win Monday night over the Golden State Warriors in the fourth game of the NBA Western Conference semifinals, now leading three games to one. 

Walker came off the bench to score 15 points in the last quarter as the Lake show outscored the Warriors by 10 in the fourth.

LeBron James led LA with 27 points, followed by Anthony Davis with 23 points and 15 rebounds. For Golden State, Stephen Curry scored 31 and added 14 assists and 10 rebounds.

Game Five will be on Wednesday up north and Game Six – if needed – will be on Friday back in Los Angeles.

Dodgers fall to Brewers, 9-3

A pair of three-run home runs were enough to spark the Milwaukee Brewers to a 9-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers Monday night.

The loss put the Blue Crew at 21-15, still in first place in the National League West.

Joey Wiemer and Willy Adames each went deep for the Brewers, now 20-15 and in second place in the NL Central. The Dodgers got a two-run homer in the ninth by Chris Taylor.

Tony Gonsolin (0-1) went six innings, giving up three hits and three runs, but no earned runs. He struck out six batters and walked none.

On Tuesday, Noah Syndergaard (1-3) will make the start against the Brewers at American Family Field.

Angels rally to defeat the Astros, 6-4

The Los Angeles Angels defeated the World Series champion Houston Astros 6-4 in Anaheim on Monday night. The win snapped a two-game losing streak and improved the Halos’ record to 20-16. They’re in second place in the American League West, two games back of the Texas Rangers.

With the game tied 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth, Brandon Drury’s triple knocked in the go-ahead run.

On the night, Taylor Ward batted 3-for-4, scoring twice. Shohei Ohtani was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Hunter Renfroe hit a solo home run.

The win went to Matt Moore (2-1) in relief. Starter Patrick Sandoval went 6.1 innings, giving up seven hits and four earned runs. He struck out two and walked none.

On Tuesday, Shohei Ohtani (4-0) will make the start on the mound for the Halos.
