The Los Angeles Angels probably wish they could have banked a few of the 25 runs they scored on Friday for Saturday’s game. They lost 4-3 in Denver to the Colorado Rockies and suffered their fourth loss in five games on Sunday.
Now 42-37, the Halos slipped into third place in the AL West. The team will head home to start a four-game series against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday in Anaheim.
The Los Angeles Dodgers rallied from a 4-1 deficit on Sunday but lost 6-5 in 11 innings to the Houston Astros.
Mookie Betts hit his 19th homer of the season and Will Smith his 12th but it wasn’t enough. The Astros took a 5-4 lead in the top of the 10th inning, but Betts tied it up with a sacrifice fly that brought in Miguel Rojas.
But after Alex Bregman singled in Mauricio Dubon with a go-ahead run in the top of the 11th, the Blue Crew couldn’t answer. They had Freddie Freeman on third with one out, but a swinging strikeout and a ground ball slammed the door shut.
With the loss, the Dodgers are 43-34 and in third place the NL West.
After a day off, the Dodgers will be in Colorado on Tuesday to play the Rockies in the first game of a three-game set.
