Pedestrian killed on Beach Blvd.

A PEDESTRIAN was fatally injured in Huntington Beach on Sunday night (Shutterstock).

A 34-year-old woman from Florida suffered fatal injuries Sunday night when she was struck by a sport utility vehicle while walking in a street in Huntington Beach.

According to Jessica Cuchilla, public information officer for the Huntington Beach Police Department, the incident took place before 11 p.m. on Beach Boulevard north of Williams Drive.

Arriving officers found a pedestrian in the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of a 2019 Hyundai Kona, an 18-year-old woman from Upland, stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. Impairment did not seem to a factor with the driver.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the Hyundai was traveled northbound on Beach Boulevard in the left lane and struck the pedestrian – who was not in a crosswalk – north of Williams Drive.
