A pedestrian struck by a car in Garden Grove Monday morning has died.
According to GGPD Traffic Investigator John Yergler, the incident took place in the 8700 block of Garden Grove Boulevard, near Newland Street. Officers were summoned at 7:24 a.m.
The vehicle involved was a silver Lexus RX300.
Upon arrival they found the victim to be “unresponsive.” Firefighter-paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority continued life-saving measures on the pedestrian, who was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy is planned to determine the exact cause of death. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the collision.
