A suspect has been arrested in connection with several hit-and-run incidents involving bicycles, including one in which Steven Gonzales, 70, of Huntington Beach was fatally injured.
Arrested was a male juvenile who was booked at Orange County Juvenile Hall on one count of homicide and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
The investigation began on Tuesday in the 6000 block of Warner Avenue (near Springdale Street). Discovery of the suspect’s vehicle – a black Toyota sedan with significant front passenger-side bumper damage – led to his arrest.
The three incidents were all between 10 and 11 p.m. on Sunday. Two cyclists suffered minor injuries and the third died from the collision.
