A murder warrant has been issued for a Mission Viejo woman wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Westminster.
According to Commander Kevin MacCormick of the WPD, being sought is Ashley Dee-Anna Charnley, 32.
She is described as a female white, 5-feet, 9 inches tall, 175 lbs. with brown eyes and brown hair.
At about 8 p.m. on Wednesday, WPD officers responded to the 13000 block of Goldenwest Street regarding a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, a male adult victim was found with a stab wound to his abdomen.
Officers and Orange County Fire Authority personnel began life-saving measures.
The victim – whose identify is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin – was taken to a local trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators have determined that Charnley is the suspect and her whereabouts are not known. Her last known address is in Mission Viejo, but she is known to frequent motels in west and north Orange County. In addition to the murder warrant, she is also being sought on narcotic charges.
According to Deputy Police Chief Cameron Knauerhaze, “Charnley and the victim are believed to have been in a dating relationship. However, the motive for the stabbing is unclear.”
Anyone with information about this case or Chamley’s location is asked to contact the WPD Watch Commander at (714) 548-3767.
