A proposal to set a minimum wage of $25 an hour for hotel and event workers in Anaheim was overwhelmingly rejected on Tuesday.

According to the Orange County Registrar of Voters, the unofficial count for votes on Measure A was 10,743 votes (33.27 percent) in favor with 21,550 (66.73 percent) against.

With all precincts reporting, the voter turnout was 19.1 percent.

The election pitted hotel worker unions against the owners and operators of hotels and amusement operations in Anaheim.

Measure A would have mandated the higher wage but also included rules about worker retention and hotel worker safety.
