RANCHO ALAMITOS (green uniforms) beat Bolsa Grande last week, setting up a key game against La Quinta (GGUSD photo).

The local high school football scene is getting down to crunch time as the final two weeks of the regular season loom ahead, with league titles and playoff spots at stake.

Looking big in the Garden Grove League race is Friday’s clash between La Quinta (6-2 overall and 3-0 in league) and Rancho Alamitos (5-3, 2-1). A win by the Aztecs would give them no worse than a tie for the GGL title.

The same goes for Western’s game on Thursday against Century. The Pioneers (7-1, 3-0) will lock up no worse than a tie for the Orange League crown with a victory over Century (1-7, 0-3).
