A proposed 30-unit residential townhouse project to be built at the southeast corner of Brookhurst Street and Central Avenue won approval from the Garden Grove Planning Commission on Thursday night. The vote was unanimous.

Planners voted in favor of the project for the use of the 1.22-acre site, including zone changes from neighborhood commercial and low-medium residential to medium density residential for the three-story condominiums. Included are three affordable units for “moderate income” households.

Also approved was a conditional use permit modification allowing The Wharf restaurant – located at 12941 Main St. – to add two new pool tables in the dining area and modify the hours of operation to be from 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday, and from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
